Fees and Rebates

  • Therapy Consultation (50 minutes): $235

You do not need a referral to book an appointment, however Medicare and Private Health can provide financial support.

At Tama Barry Psychology, I aim to provide high-quality, accessible care at fair and competitive rates. The Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) currently recommend fees of up to $315 for a standard consultation (50+ minutes). My fees are set below these guidelines and are reviewed annually.

  • Under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) you are eligible for 10 rebated sessions per calendar year. A MHCP is obtained from your GP.

The medicare rebate is $98.65, leaving an upfront out of pocket expense of $136.35 per standard session.

  • Some private health funds offer rebates on individual psychological therapy. Please refer to your policy for exact details.

  • I provide psychological services for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS clients. Unfortunately, I am unable to see NDIA-managed clients at this time.

Services are billed according to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, and a full quote will be included in your Service Agreement after the initial consultation.

  • I am a registered provider with WorkCover Queensland. If your claim is approved, WorkCover may cover the cost of psychological sessions.

Please provide your claim number and approval details before your first appointment, otherwise you will be charged the full fee.
